The Saints Alive serieswas published weekly in the St. Thomas Bulletin and was authored by Rev. Dr. Robert F. McNamara (click his name for News articles about Father).

Father McNamara was ordained a priest in 1936 and was Professor of Church History for over 40 years. These vignettes were published in the St.Thomas bulletin for over 28 years.

Father McNamara went home to the Lord on May 22, 2008 at the age of 98, the oldest priest in the Diocese of Rochester, New York at that time. His obituary is on the Catholic Courier website.

We cannot answer questions about his articles.

We have received inquiries about other works by Fr. McNamara. Aside from many historical books, he wrote a series entitled "All God's Children", which ran in our bulletin in the early-1980's with reflections centering on the readings of the liturgical cycle.
