Pulpit

Celebrating 100 years

After the Church responds to the call of God and assembles, Christ Himself speaks to us when the Scriptures are proclaimed in church. The ambo (also known as the pulpit) not only provides a place for this proclamation, it also reflects the importance of the action which occurs between God and His people during this proclamation. This is the living Word of God! The ambo is therefore one of the important elements of the sanctuary.

When scriptures are read in the Churh, God Himself speaks to His people, and it is Christ, present in His word, who proclaims the Gospel. God speaks to His people of redemption and salvation, and He nourished the spirit; Christ is present among the faithful through His word. Through the Responses the people make God's word their own and express their adherence to it through the profession of faith. Moved by this word, they pray in the general intercessions for the needs of the Church and for the world's salvation.
