From Bl. Kateri Tekakwitha Parish

Main: Welcome to Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Parish in the Irondequoit Catholic Community

Our parish was formed in May of 2010 from five (Christ the King, St. Cecilia, St. Margaret Mary, St. Salome & St. Thomas the Apostle). We worship at 3 sites (Christ the King, St. Cecilia & St. Margaret Mary). St. Ann's Community, an independent living and nursing home complex in town, is served by our Senior Ministries.

This website contains information about the parish, Irondequoit Senior Ministries, and the Pastoral Plan. It also has over 600 short articles about saints and information about the Catholic Church. Visit the Vocations page, Frequently Asked Questions, Podcasts, Rosary, Stations of the Cross, Sunday Reflections, Videos and other pages.

Disciples on the Journey (DOTJ)

What is it? Disciples on The Journey is a Lenten Program centered on small groups coming together on a weekly basis to discuss the Sunday readings. Participants receive a booklet to use for each week.

How do I join a small group? There are 2 opportunities at all 3 sites to join a small group. There will be 2 Sign-up Weekends: January 28-29 and Feb. 4-5. Sign-up sheets will be in the bulletin the weekend of Jan. 21-22.

Where do small Groups meet? Small groups meet in the homes of parishioners or at any of the 3 sites. Volunteers to host a small group are needed. Please call Cheryl Ramsey at 266-6193.

What if I cannot make all 6 weeks of the small group sessions? It is not unusual for participants to miss a small group session. Please sign up anyway and attend when you can.

What is the fee for this program? There is no fee to participate.

What is the DOTJ Prayer? Prayer cards will be available in the pews for Feb. 18 24. The DOTJ Prayer will be used at the Masses on the weekend and daily Mass as an ending to the petitions. Parishioners are invited to pray this prayer throughout Lent.

Prayer
Loving God, you called us each by name and gave your only Son to redeem us.

In your faithfulness, you sent the Holy Spirit to complete the mission of Jesus among us.
Open our hearts to Jesus.
Give us the courage to speak his name to those who are close to us and the generosity to share his love with those who are far away.
We pray that every person throughout the world be invited to know and love Jesus as Savior and Redeemer.
May they come to know his all-surpassing love.
May that love transform every element of our society.
We ask this through Christ, our Lord.
Amen.

Mary, Mother of the Church, pray for us.
St. Paul the Apostle, pray for us.
