Irondequoit Catholic Communities
About Us

Celebrating 100 years

We are comprised of six faith communities in Irondequoit, New York: The parishes of Christ the King, St. Cecilia, St. Margaret Mary, St. Salome, and St. Thomas the Apostle, plus St. Ann's Community, an assisted living and nursing home community.

Three of the parishes have begun to cluster - Christ the King, St. Salome and St. Thomas the Apostle. The other two parishes are scheduled to cluster with the original three by 2012.

Since our Pastoral Planning Group was formed, we have been working together to support our Seniors through Irondequoit Senior Ministries (ISM). Some of the ministries supported by ISM are:

  • Regional Festival of Choirs in April
  • A monthly Regional Calendar of all activities in every parish in Irondequoit
  • Transportation Services for senior citizens in our faith communities
  • Weekly Communion Services in all the senior care facilities within the community
  • Periodic senior day trips

The clustered parishes have started to integrate School of Religion operations. We are beginning to work on a regional youth ministry.

Father Bradler, retired pastor of St. Thomas the Apostle, leads several trips throughout the year. The next one is a very special trip to the Tulip Festival in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Contact the office at St. Thomas the Apostle Church for more information.
